My Approach to Counseling
My approach is practical, supportive, and focused on helping clients develop skills they can use in everyday life.
I believe understanding a problem is important, but counseling should also help you identify what you can do differently moving forward. Together, we may explore patterns in thoughts, emotions, relationships, and behaviors while developing coping strategies that help you respond more effectively to challenges.
When appropriate, I also help clients identify behavioral changes that can support greater stability, healthier relationships, and improved functioning at home, work, school, and within the community.
What You Can Expect Working With Me
You can expect a counseling environment that is respectful, direct, and focused on helping you make progress toward the goals that matter to you.
Our work may include understanding the experiences that contributed to your current concerns, learning practical coping skills, identifying patterns that may be interfering with your progress, and practicing new ways of responding.
My goal is to help you leave counseling with more than insight. I want you to develop practical tools, greater confidence, and healthier strategies that can continue benefiting you outside of our sessions.
Telehealth / In-Person Availability
I provide counseling services to individuals and families throughout the Richmond and Tri-Cities region both in-person and through telehealth.
You do not have to manage difficult experiences, relationships, or emotional challenges by yourself.
Whether you are working through trauma, anxiety, depression, relationship concerns, addiction, or a difficult transition, counseling can provide an opportunity to better understand what is happening and develop healthier ways of moving forward.
