Who I Work With

I enjoy working with children, adolescents, and adults who are ready to heal, grow, and create positive change in their lives. Much of my experience has been working with youth and families, and I especially enjoy helping children, teens, and young adults navigate life's challenges while building confidence and resilience.

I also enjoy working with adults who may be struggling with past hurts, difficult relationships, grief, trauma, anxiety, depression, or questions about who they are and where they want to go in life. My favorite clients are often those who may feel stuck but are willing to take steps toward understanding themselves and creating a healthier future.

Areas I Help With

I have experience helping individuals work through anxiety, depression, trauma, grief and loss, self-esteem concerns, emotional regulation, family conflict, relationship challenges, and life transitions. I am particularly passionate about helping clients heal from difficult experiences, strengthen family connections, and develop healthier ways of coping with stress.

I also work with individuals who are struggling with interpersonal challenges, attachment concerns, and personality-related difficulties. My goal is to help clients gain insight into themselves while building practical skills that support lasting growth and healthier relationships.

My Approach to Counseling

I believe that every person deserves to feel heard, understood, and accepted without judgment. My approach is warm, supportive, and collaborative. I view counseling as a partnership where we work together to understand what is getting in the way of the life you want and identify meaningful steps forward.

I draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused CBT (TF-CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and trauma-informed approaches. In simple terms, I help clients understand how their thoughts, feelings, and experiences influence their behaviors while learning new skills to manage emotions, navigate challenges, and create healthier patterns. I can be reflective and encouraging, but I am also willing to gently challenge clients when it helps them move toward their goals.

What You Can Expect Working With Me

If you choose to work with me, I hope you will experience a space where you can show up exactly as you are. I know that beginning counseling can feel intimidating, and I strive to make the process feel comfortable, welcoming, and supportive from the very first session.

You can expect honesty, compassion, and encouragement, along with practical tools you can use outside of therapy. Together, we will explore challenges, celebrate progress, identify strengths, and work toward the goals that are important to you. I believe healing happens when people feel safe enough to be vulnerable and empowered enough to make meaningful changes in their lives.

Credentials & Experience

I earned my Master of Science in Professional Counseling with an Emphasis in Trauma from Grand Canyon University in 2021. I am currently a Resident in Counseling in Virginia and have successfully completed the requirements necessary for licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor, with full licensure anticipated soon.

I have worked in the behavioral health field since 2013 and have extensive experience supporting children, adolescents, adults, and families in community-based settings. Since 2024, I have provided clinical assessments, supervision, and support to mental health professionals while continuing to serve clients directly. I am also certified as a Qualified Mental Health Professional Supervisor in Virginia.

Outside of counseling, I enjoy reading, writing, and spending time with my calico cat, who keeps life interesting and reminds me of the importance of comfort and connection.

Telehealth / In-Person Availability

I currently provide both telehealth and in-person counseling services for children, adolescents, and adults. Together, we can determine which format best meets your needs and helps you feel most comfortable throughout the counseling process.

Taking the first step toward counseling can feel overwhelming, but you do not have to do it alone. Whether you are facing a difficult season, working through past experiences, or simply looking for support and direction, I would be honored to walk alongside you in that journey. If you think we might be a good fit, I invite you to contact Virginia Counseling Associates to learn more about scheduling an appointment.

I believe everyone deserves a space where they can feel heard, supported, and empowered to grow, and I look forward to meeting you where you are.
