
Tanya Francis
In 1993, Tanya Francis, a native of New York City, enrolled at Virginia State University to study Psychology. Several years later (2003), she graduated with a Master's in Science. Ms. Francis would spend most of her adult years in the “helping” field, providing services to youth and adults. She has over 20 years of experience in the mental health field, as well as being a parent. If you ask her, she will say her most significant accomplishment is being a parent to three wonderful children. She believes that through love, you can empower change. She believes in looking at the “whole person” to make the most significant change. She has served on various boards and committees in Richmond, including the PAC, Rezoning Committee, RPS Health and Advisory Committee, NAMI, and multiple PTA/PTSA units. Since 2023, Ms. Francis has been employed by the Virginia Counseling Association, providing family life education.
