Chanel Johnson

Chanel is a Resident in Counseling who earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and a Master of Education degree in Counselor Education, both from Virginia State University. She has 10 years of experience working with adults with depression and anxiety, as well as children and adolescents.
Her primary focus is counseling and therapeutic treatment to children and adolescents. She uses a blend of Cognitive Behavioral, and Person-Centered techniques. She also utilizes a Play Therapy approach amongst children and adolescents as a way for them to fully experience and express feelings through a natural, self-guided, self-healing process. Chanel’s goal is to support individuals with finding and explore their strengths, help work through challenges and support establishing goals to provide hope and healing through their therapeutic journey. Chanel has a passion for helping individuals find ways to better express themselves, apply effective coping skills that best suit their needs and support improving their overall well-being.
